hi all,
just so you know, this page has been hacked not too long ago, and so all of the info, pictures etc. is still being retrieved and we are trying to get things back to normal. In the mean time if you would like to buy a cd, or want a recent picture please visit www.blackhenmusic.com

We hope you are well,

This year's Elphin Roots Festival is getting close!

Here's all the info you need about the third annual ERF.
Where: Elphin, Ontario. Take Maberly-Elphin Road (County Road 36) north from Highway 7, left at the flashing light in Elphin. The Maberly-Elphin Road is 10 minutes west of Perth, 7 minutes east of Sharbot Lake. There will be signs in Elphin telling you where to go.

When: Saturday, June 28, 2008. Gates will open at 11am, and the music starts at noon. We will wrap up by 11pm.

Who: This year's lineup includes Oh Susanna, Justin Rutledge, Jenny Whiteley, Joey Wright, Melwood Cutlery, Sheesham and Lotus, Notre Dame de Grass, Leavin' Train, Carolyn Mark, Luther Wright, Lois Charmer, and more. Plus this year, we have added a local stage accross the road at the Elphin church (it's free!), the Highland Stage, featuring Joel Leblanc, Dave Martin, The Skirmish, Celtic Heritage Fiddle Orchestra, Michael Cota, Linda Grenier, and more to come. Also, Tip the Clown will be doing animal balloons and singin' tunes for the wee ones.

How much: The tickets are $25.00 in advance, and $30.00 at the gate. We are capping ticket sales, so call before you come. The number for tickets and ticket availablity is 1-800-518-2729, or go to Shadowfax, in Perth. Kids under 12 are free.

What: There is a great chip truck on site. The Elf Inn Express features fresh-cut fries, grilled burgers and dogs, veggie and meat, wraps with real roasted turkey and vegies, tempeh burgers and of course, fried cheese! Yum. Bring a plate and your own fork to be extra eco-friendly! The Elf Inn uses no trans-fat oil, and the oil is recycled into bio-deisel fuel. Cool.

And: There will be a coffe and sweets table, craft vendors and some other fun stuff, like an all ages soccer game, workshops at the church hall, and who knows what else by the time it's all said and done.

You Will Need: A blanket or SHORT chair. Weather appropriate gear (there's some shade, but c'mon bring a hat, and a thermos of water, rain coats etc.)

Where to sleep: There is NO CAMPING on site, but there are lots of other options nearby. They all require a short drive, however.
